My School Resolutions

DEPENDING ON OPINIONS

Have you ever wondered why we depend so much of what people think about us? Why we do things to please the people we admire the most? Or how we love having attention? Well, I have and I have come to several conclusions. We depend on people's opinion because we want to be part of their lives, we want them to talk great things about us. But have you seen what doing all those things mean? It means we are not being true to ourselves, that we are not happy. We should be happy with who we are, we shouldn't be changing the things we say, do, or think just because someone we admire says he/she doesn't like it. Everyone should accept the rest of the world for who they are.

We are unique, and we should stay like that, that's what makes humankind interesting. We should appreciate the personalities we have, it does not matter how different we think, we can change the world with who we are, no need to change. We depend on others' opinions because we care about how they see us, but, stop for a second and see everything around you, you'll see everything is different and that is what makes it especial. That is why they are so many object in our houses, every things has its job. Us we do, every person has a specific job to do in the earth. We are who we are and changing it changes makes everything harder for us.

Everyone has different dreams, but we, sometimes, say we have the same goals and dreams as the rest of our friends because we want them to think it is cool, but what is cool is being able to have our own decisions. To show the rest of the world that you are unique and that you don't care what they think of it. That you like it for different reasons than the rest of the people do. We don't need to depend on our friends, it's more important to be happy with ourselves, and we won't be happy with who we are if we don't understand and appreciate it. So be happy, for what you have, no matter how hard your life can be, it will get better with time. You shouldn't be in the need to be someone you are not.

Hard Decisions

Decisions, Decisions

All around us

We have to learn how to take them

Life is hard, learn to cope with it

Dreams you want to accomplish,

Everyone stops you

No one believes in you

You go down but then stand up higher than before

Show them you can

You have to leave to work in making them true,

But it's not easy

A difficult road with up and downs

It could change your life forever

Take it, fight through that road

You'll get far if you stand tall

Making your dreams come true is never easy

Learn from every mistake

That will make you stronger.

Decisions, we make them every day, it's something we can't control. We have to decide and we won't ever know which was the best choice. This poem is about a decision I've recently made, I've had to choose between staying here in this city or going somewhere else where I have a better possibility to make my dreams come true, although knowing I will still need to work hard to make those dreams come true. Also, knowing I need to stop thinking about everyone here that has been a big part of my life because they don't believe in me and they don't believe I'll be able to do what I want to do. I think this choice, even though people have tried to change the way I think of it, will change everything and it will help me show the people that have not believe in me, that I can do it.

Love should be blind to family differences. Why is it important what happens between two families for a couple in love to be able to show their feelings and be happy together? Families should leave all those differences in the past. Only knowing that despite their differences they found love is enough for them to be able to experience and try having a relationship. Families differences are just that, differences, you should be able to forgive, it does not matter if you forget about it. Differences can over come being mature enough to do it.

Sometimes is healthier for people to get over things. They aren't winning anything by having that grudge against each other, it's just not important. A lot of times it is important for families to understand that, even though they are "enemies", if their children are happy with each other they should leave the misunderstandings between families and appreciate that they found someone who could take care and make them better people each day.

Some people might think that the families are in all the right to hate each other and to maintain the grudge between them, but really? Have you ever seen to people or families hating and making their closed ones think the worst about the other or others? I have and in my opinion is stupid, shows that they don't really care for no one but themselves. Families should be happy about what they have at the moment, it's unhealthy for families fight for something that could have happen years prior, things that maybe they might not even experienced. It ain't worth it, at all.

Love Should Be Blind To Family Differences

For you, what is music? For me, music is everything. I live, breathe, and express myself for and by music. Music is the only thing that makes me happy. Sometimes just listening to music makes everything better and it also helps me to forget about everything that has happen in my life. I think music, everything I do is inspired by an specific song or artist.

People might say that is an obsession, but is it? Everything me hear is music. I can inspire a song by how people in a classroom laughing, yelling, clapping, playing with the pencil or pen, or sometimes just by the sound of people moving their chairs. For me music has been a way do see everything clearer and sometimes it just helps me think before I say or do something. My father says that the music is destroying my life, I say he doesn't understand how much of an impact music has have in the way I see everything around me or how it has help me control my anger. Music is my psychologist, my safer.

What about you has music help you in anything? Is it as important as it is for me? Before answering those questions think about that time that a song or an artist helped you go through a hard time in your life. Listen to the lyrics, sometimes you just listen to a song for the melody and you don't pay attention to what they say sometimes they are more significant than they seem. Maybe then, for those who judge people for what they listen or why they listen music most of the time, you'll understand that for us music has a more important definition, and has help as in more ways than me can explain.

Music

High School is the best and worst thing that could happen to a teenager. Have you ever wonder why is it so difficult for some of us? I have, and trust me, I haven't come with an answer. I love studying, learning, I love when teachers challenge me, and that is the only thing I like about High School. But I hate how people try to get things about me. I hate that they are so false with each other. Most of the things about my classmates are wrong, they are most of the time annoying as hell, they don't understand the meaning of respect or honesty, that makes me really angry and sad. In school, some seniors give me looks like I am creepy, they haven't try to know me and that just makes school worst.

High School, is the worst place to try and be yourself. Trust me, I live it every day, they laugh at those who are different, at those who don't give a damn about being "popular". We live in this community where you are cool or you're not. Stereotypes are everywhere. It does not matter if we use uniforms, they try to make others feel like they are ugly, that they are fat, that they are not worthy of their time. High school is suppose to be that place where you feel better, but sometimes it's just not there. They invent things that even thou, are not true everyone doesn't make an effort to investigate if they are true or not true. You create a reputation, sometimes is very bad.

You know being different to other is the best thing that could happen to someone, but in High School people don't understand it, the importance of it. Being different means you have a different opinion and you speak for your rights. Being different means you don't depend on other peoples words for you to speak. It means you are sorta more intelligent in those who depend in others to do things or to speak. People scrutinize you. In my case I hate attention, can't deal with it, but in my school, no matter how quiet I want to be there are people looking at me, ALL THE TIME, you know that feeling they are watching you? It's now a constant thing in my life.

Agh, High School

Who is your idol or has inspire you? Why is he or she your idol? Think hard because you shouldn't be choosing an idol because of how she or he sings, acts, plays, or because he/she is from a place you love. An idol is someone that gives you hope, helps you understand things you have never tied to understand, they accept their mistakes, they don't see themselves as better as the rest of the world. Idols are those who fight for their rights and are selfless, carrying, respectful, they treat everyone with respect, and when they do something wrong they recognize it and are not ashamed to tell "I have make a mistake, I'm not perfect, if they expect me to change who I am for those who look me as their idol, they are wrong", and an idol is someone that no matter what they don't change who they are for the sake of people treating them better or respecting them. My idols are all of the above, they are unique and they don't help people for the sake of them being more famous, they don't care about fame. I'll tell you who my idols are, you may have heard of them: Kristen Stewart, Joan Jett, Robert Pattinson, and Jared Leto.

You may be thinking "Oh I hate Kristen Stewart, she never smiles" you are wrong she does smile a lot, just because her character in "Twilight" was supposed to be very shy doesn't mean she never smiles when she is not acting, and by the way who said she had to smile all the time especially when their are paparazzi following her everywhere; now, she is my idol not only because she is Kristen Stewart, she has incredible acting skills, she is selfless and respectful. She speaks for herself, she doesn't care how people perceive her. Although she has become one of the most important young actresses in the industry, she has not change at all, she hasn't become a diva, every actress and actor that has worked with her says she is very down-to-earth, an amazing person and actress. Joan Jett, now many of you haven't heard about her, she became the first women to form a Rock N Roll all girl band in the 70's, she she bought with many companies such as warner brothers because they said they wouldn't be successful being all of them girls. That pretty much says it all. She fought for her rights showing that women had as well, the right to play Rock N Roll. She was revolutionary, she didn't care people's opinions, amazing strong woman.

Robert Pattinson, guys may be thinking that he is one of my idols because most girls love him, and I admit, I do love him but that is not the reason to the way he is one of my idols. He is an amazing actor, does a very good job doing an American accent even though he is English (Many directors including David Cronenberg has said this), he is a very respectful gentleman, he takes his work very seriously, loves his job, as my other idols he doesn't care about what people think about him and he hasn't change who he is for the sake of other people, also called by his co-stars a very down-to-earth guy. Last but not least, Jared Leto. An incredible singer, composer, actor, person. He inspires me and many other people with his music. The way he has with words shows how amazing he is. A person that in his acceptance speech during the oscars talked about his support to Ukraine and Venezuela, but also for the people that has died of AIDS, and for those who are scared of how people will see them because of who they love and for those who are mistreated because of their sexuality. Every and each of my idols are people that most of the people see as stupid or unreal. But the truth is they don't really care about money nor fame, they do what they do because they love it, and they care about it. People like this should be the people you should look to. Real idols, down-to-earth people.

Who Has Inspired You?

Why are Punks, transexuals, homosexuals, black people, hippies, and minorities so different from us, heterosexuals and white people? They aren't, because of who they love, or their race, or how they dress and what they listen to, we see them as different? It is a lie we have been living in a long time ago. I'll ask you something, doesn't it make you angry when someone insults you? It does, but then that person ask for forgiveness and without even thinking it you accept it. But then a black person offends you because you did something wrong and you are not accepting it, you yell at her or him life your life depended on it, then he or she ask for forgiveness and, you without even thinking, yell at him that he is a black person useless and that he/she should be ashamed of who he/she is. Why does it matter.

Now how many homosexuals or transexuals do you know? Probably none, or if you do you probably hate them. But then I ask you why is he or she different from the other people? Yes who they love, but why does it affect you? It's interesting how society can be so closed-minded. Homosexuals, as us who are heterosexuals have the right to fall in love, be respected, adopted, their children may be either heterosexual or homosexuals, but who they are doesn't depend on who their parents are whatsoever. They deserve respect, they have the same rights as any of us. I'll ask you something again, if those homosexuals would have never say anything would you treat them with respect? Yes, you would have because you would have never know about their sexuality.

Punks, who are they why do they dress so ugly? Those are questions you ask yourself, all the time. I'll tell you what, they are normal people who decide to listen to their music and to dress different than the rest of the world. But that does not mean they are different, that they are dangerous or whatever you want to think about them. Someone's personality is not define by how they dress or for what music they listen too. It annoys me how people can be so selfish and think the worst of punks, many of them are really nice people, you gotta learn to hear them out, learn about them from them, not from newspapers or people who are scared of Punks. I assure you many of them are more intelligent that you'll ever be. Why do we see them as different, why do we care so much? It's their life we shouldn't be getting in THEIR lives. Stop judging this people, stop being so selfish, stop doing something you shouldn't care about. This people are as normal as we are, they have felling, why don't we try stoping being so rude.
